New York Times bestselling author Nicholas Sparks will present the 2009 McFadden Memorial Lecture, sponsored by the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library Foundation and The Patricia Cornwell Foundation, on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 7 p.m. at North Central High School, 1801 E. 86th Street.

For over a decade, Sparks has captivated readers with stories that explore the profound mysteries of the human heart. After returning home, he tracks down a woman whose photo he found buried in the dirt in Iraq.

Sparks also is the author of such books as The Choice, At First Sight and Nights in Rodanthe, which has become a popular Hollywood film.

The McFadden Lecture is free and open to the public.
