IMCPL Digital Library Collection
Welcome to the Indianapolis Marion County Public Library's digital collections. The purpose of these collections is to provide access to digital images of cultural and historical interest to Indianapolis residents as well as students, researchers and others. The Library offers these collections to allow free access to digital versions of increasingly valuable, fragile and hard-to-use originals.
IMCPL currently offers the following collections:

The Sowing the Seeds of Victory: the World War I Poster Collection is a collection of over 200 posters created by prominent artists in 1917 to encourage public support of the war. These posters cover subjects such as enlistment, conservation, industrial mobilization, subscriptions to Liberty Loans, and other patriotic duties. |

The James Whitcomb Riley Recordings at the Indianapolis Marion County Public Library consist of seventeen unpublished recordings of the Hoosier Poet reading his work. There are dialect selections, sad poems, happy poems, stories, tales, and a funny little speech, The Soldier’s Story, that Riley must have told many times. |

The May Wright Sewall Papers are a collection of documents comprised of approximately 500 letters written to May Wright Sewall dated between 1879 and 1919, and three guest books with remarks and signatures from 197 guests of the Sewall house. |

The Museum Artifacts Collection is comprised of 1,000 artifacts selected by IMCPL and The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. The artifacts were selected from the museum collection to be photographed and made available within this digital collection. |
